David Berner   David's business card says simply, "A Human Resource." He has been many things to many people: actor, broadcaster, editorial writer, playwright, teacher, therapist, social activist, Master of Ceremonies and motivational speaker. A truly PROTean talent!

After 10 years of running a Residential Treatment Centre for drug addicts, alcoholics and ex-cons, Mr. Berner shifted his energies to Communications. Over 25 years, he has compiled a 5-page resume of performances in radio, television, stage and film on projects in Vancouver, Edmonton, Ottawa, Toronto, St. John's, Newfoundland, Nebraska, Los Angeles and Venice, Italy.

For several years, running his own very profitable Ad Agency, David covered all the bases: Creative Director, Writer, New Business, Media Buyer and turning off the lights at the end of the day.

Local audiences best know David Berner, of course, as an enormously popular Radio Talk Show Host on BC's most listened-to station, CKNW 980AM. David thinks his single biggest strength is LISTENING, truly hearing what the client needs to express

David Mak   A born entrepreneur and artist, David first dabbled with the business world at the age of 14 cutting hair for fellow schoolmates, selling artworks to parents and selling home made Welsh Rarebits (Marmite & cheese on toasts) to hungry kids in the tuck room with a borrowed waffle-maker while attending a boarding school in North Wales.

In the past 15 years, David opened a real estate firm, had been a top salesperson, managed a 60 agents strong brokerage division, oversaw the expansion of the property management portfolio and pioneered online marketing of rental properties in Vancouver.

Intrigued by the varying business subject matters in Paul's work, David realized video production can provide the other missing element in his busy business life: fun. With Paul's invitation, David came onboard in 2003 and brought with him hands-on experience in sales and management. With David at the helm, several initiatives got implemented in a hurry including formally incorporated Protowork Productions Inc., development of business operating procedures & production management systems, building a network of likeminded associates, and re-focused our artistic works on helping our clients achieve their business objectives.

His experience encompasses all genres of filmmaking, from commercials and music videos, to dramatic narratives and documentaries. Eric Oh   Dan Rocque, (cinematographer) is the latest addition to Protowork Productions Inc. Paul was quick to realize Dan's unique style and strong photographic intuition after first working with him back in November. Dan's passion began with still photography, a practice that solidified his understanding of light and itÇs correlation to the photographic process. In addition, his innate understanding of composition and framing pushed him to further experiment with moving images, upon which he decided to seek further training at the Vancouver Film School.

Focusing his efforts in cinematography, Dan developed his skills working with film and within the narrative form. His knowledge and expertise were built from the ground up, placing trust in his light meter, and not the monitor. Dan's thesis film entitled "We Do Flat Tops" went on to receive international acclaim at the Jay Sanders Film Festival in Auburn, Al.

Dan currently works with digital video and high definition. His experience spans over a broad spectrum of projects ranging from reality series and feature films, to corporate and promotional videos. Dan's strong work ethic, charisma, and perceptive eye have made him an integral part of Protowork Productions Inc.
