DVD Authoring for Annual Conference

IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) holds hundreds of conferences annually across the globe. IEEE VR 2006 is a one week conference to be held in Alexandria, Virginia. This is the premier international conference and exhibition in virtual reality. They need to produce a DVD of materials and papers submitted by various authors for distribution to hundreds of participants during this conference. They already have the materials: videos and papers. They already have a designer firm for the artistic creation of the overall direction and image of the DVD. What they were looking for was a company like Protowork to put these two together and author the DVD in a professional, timely and economical manner.

| Solution: |
We provided an IP address for the authors to upload their work all around the world. We worked under the artistic direction of Design Formation, their designer based in California, to produce the DVD to the satisfaction of both the designer and the VR 20005 chair. Our job involved creating animations, editing and converting all video and audio files for TV format; the production of a fully interactive DVD video with menus/sub-menus and opening animations; and the debugging of the final product before the authoring of the master copy for DVD duplication. In this project the time-line management and collaboration skill are vital for the successful completion of the project on time and satisfactory to all parties.
