15 Second TV Commercial Production / HD Video Shoot Production

The Centre in Vancouver for Performing Arts is regarded as the premiere entertainment facility in Vancouver. To promote "Heartbeat", a spectacular percussion dance show which features an impressive cast of over 55 dancers, martial artists, and musicians, they hired us to produce a 15 sec tv commercial to be aired on Fairchild TV. They supplied us with printed promotional materials and still photos of the performers for general image directions. Alos, along with the success of the DVD sales of their previous show "Senses", they decided to produce another high quality, HD mastered DVD for Heartbeat

Our client gave us the general directions and feel of the commercial that they wanted. Gave us a week to produce the commercial to meet deadline. We created the script, the branding, the artistic feel and the animations. We used After Effects to blend the photos together and applied with appropriate special effects, masks, filters, typography... We also composed and mixed the music. We exported an uncompressed movie and output it to Betacam SP for TV broadcasting. As for the DVD, Paul Mak participated in the shooting of the live show for DVD production. Sony HDW-F900 high definition Cameras were used at 24 frames per second from 4 different angles, covering wide master shot, side shot, close up and medium range shot. The Centre finished up the post-production in house.
